SBQ Prompt – 03/01/08

January 6, 2008

Are you starting something new to celebrate the New Year or participating in “Guilt Free January?” If so, what are you planning on starting?

I didn’t start something new on New Year. However, I did start Celtic Christmas a few weeks before. My plan this year (as in every year!) is to attempt [...]

Working whilst travelling

November 10, 2007

It’s rare that I take a WIP out with me and work on it whilst travelling (train, plane etc). I dislike bringing attention to my personal stuff, and so always fear that I’m going to be stared at if doing cross stitch in public. However, today, I was travelling out on the train to stay [...]

The Framed Present

November 5, 2007

The Framed Present, originally uploaded by Nordie.
Here’s how the picture looked framed up.
I managed to give it to the couple the day before the wedding, and they certainly appreciated it and enjoyed it.
One day hope to see it hanging on their wall!

Balloons – WIP

October 28, 2007

Balloons, originally uploaded by Nordie.
Knew I wouldnt stay away from stitching for very long!  Back to doing this kit, which I started several months ago, but put down in favour of the Lavendar and Lace item.  At one point I had lost the key to this, but managed to get another copy from [...]

The Present!

October 19, 2007

The Present!, originally uploaded by Nordie.

Off home tomorrow to get my hair done, and there’s a framer’s not far [...]

One step forward Two back

October 14, 2007

Well, I restitched the lettering in a dull gold colour, but managed to do it in less than a day.  Have since tried – 3 times – to do the stitching at the bottom of the “U”, and have had to unpick it each time, because I’ve made some mistake. Again.  Away from the matter [...]

(Even More) Frogging

October 9, 2007

Well have finally gotten rid of that Krenick and my hands sure hurt.  Man is that stuff tough!   (and it smells too!).
Now have to decide what colour lettering I want instead -  I want it to stand out but not too much, if you get what I mean

Frogging

October 8, 2007

MutterGrumbleBah!
I’ve just spent this evening unpicking the metallic Krenick lettering on the Lavendar and Lace wedding thing I’m trying to do. It just looked awful, and even after getting a new skein from the new stock it still looked bad. It kept breaking and I was having to use shorter and shorter lengths [...]

I’ve been where?

August 25, 2007

Unfortunately my computer has died at home and the other computer I usually use to access the internet does not allow me to post to wordpress. Therefore I’ve been a little quiet on here recently, but it does mean that I’ve been stitching away!
No Photos unfortunately, but I have been progressing on the Lavender [...]
